About the Conference

The Department of Physics, Dibrugarh University is organizing the 32nd National Conference “Condensed Matter Days" (CMDAYS-2024). CMDAYS aims to provide a suitable platform for young researchers and scientists to present their works on experimental, theoretical and computational Condensed Matter Physics. In addition to this trend, CMDAYS-2024 includes a wide variety of emerging and interdisciplinary areas of Condensed Matter Physics. The conference is expected to achieve a large gathering of Physics Community with ample thought provoking ideas and discussions that will be helpful in creation of sustained research collaborations.

About the Organizer

Dibrugarh, the industrial capital of upper Assam is well known for its vast treasure of minerals (including oil, natural gas and coal), flora and fauna and largest concentrations of tea plantations in the entire Assam. Dibrugarh University, located five kilometres to the south of the Dibrugarh town, is well linked by roads, rail, air and waterways. The National Highway No. 37 passes through the University campus. Dibrugarh University is a leading research and innovation driven University acting as a spatial slot to configure the socio-cultural dynamics of North East India. Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee on its 60th birthday in 2024, the University owns the pride to host 177 affiliated colleges and institutes that spread over nine districts of Assam. The University has a vast sprawling campus (550 acres) set in bucolic and idyllic surroundings. The Department of Physics, established in 1967, offers both integrated Masters and Masters Degree in Physics with various specializations. The department has also started the NEP integrated course since last year. In addition, the diverse areas of research of the department include Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Computational Materials Science, Theoretical High Energy Physics, Cosmology, Astrophysics, Atmospheric Physics etc.
